Our Story

Born at home. Loved by family. Shared with you.

It started simply: I wanted to share American culture with our French Au Pairs. What could be more American than apple pie? I tinkered with the crust, the apples and the spices until voilà! Apple pie – perfected. Our French girls were more than a little obsessed with this pie – inviting friends over to our home when I would bake it and learning the recipe to make it for their families back home in France.

In 2019 my family persuaded me to enter my apple pie in the North Carolina Apple Festival’s annual recipe contest. To my great surprise and delight it won not one, but two awards including the Grand Prize!

“You should sell this,” I heard time and time again. Not being a professional baker, I begged off until the fall of 2020, when I decided that the world could use a little more love amid the pandemic.

With the gracious guidance of a local baker – Jan’s Carrot Cakes – and encouragement from a local farm stand – Cane Creek Valley Farm -- Apple Country Farms Bakery was born.

We are a family operation. My husband lends his time and talents as both a self-taught chef and skilled businessman. Our son is now an expert apple peeler and inventor of his own recipes.

It is our privilege to share the award-winning Cookie Crumble Apple Pie with you.

Thank you for supporting our family run local business!
